In light of
my single life being slightly, entertaining (at least to me) and not yet quite worthy
of a Danielle Steel Novel. Simply titled, 50 ways to Leave your Lover. (Thanks, Joyce!)
I thought, what
the heck.…let’s review instances of dating I have observed in this age of
Social Media.
Disclaimer: This is purely for
entertainment. I am not perfect, I don’t claim to be.
Trust me if you pissed me off, you
already know it. This ain’t about you.
Do not be offended, only vaguely
amused and/or informed.
Or….
be offended, it’s all about choices!
A
40- something, single, woman’s Code to
dating in 2014.
Always ask questions. If
you don’t ask a question, you’ll never know the answer.
I tell this to my kids all
the time and it applies to every situation.
Never assume
anything….however I would recommend to note at least a few of these bullet
points before dating:
1. Be
honest.
2. Be
UN-married.
3. Be
honest.
4. If
you don’t want a relationship, don’t act like you want one.
5. If
you just want “relations”. Repeat #1 or #3. 😉
6. We
don’t all need to re-marry. We can change our name legally, any time.
I understand the local courthouse charges a fee with no division of
property.
7.
Most
of us, for the most part, can make it on our own in this crazy world. Well,
except for the months that have 31 days, those really throw my
budget for a loop.
8. PLEASE,
Do not think that: “Trying to figure out what you can do to save your relationship with you ex” qualifies as an un-hurtful, logical explanation. While it would appear to be remotely
admirable, you should have that figured out already.
Heck, “I need to run to the store for beer” and never returning, seems
less hurtful.
9. They’re
your ex for a reason, do not be disillusioned.
Life is too short. Have fun!! Enjoy the simple things! It’s pretty cheap and easy.
Note: Do not assume your date is
cheap or easy .😜 Ha ha I had to go there.
This last thought
goes for anyone; Single, divorced, married, undecided or the ever present, “No FB relationship status
available”.
